A new appointment with in-salon interviews, where between a haircut and a colour we love to get to know our customers, talk and discuss with them about fashion, style, beauty and everything from COLONNA Metropolitan Beauty Makers we value for them every day.

Today we interview Vanessaone of our dearest customers, who agreed to be interviewed and met with the courtesy and kindness that have always distinguished her.

Hi Vanessa, tell us something about yourself...how is your day organised?

I wake up at 7 a.m., have breakfast, take my son (the youngest) to school and then straight to the studio...around lunchtime I leave the studio, go back to pick up my son from school, just enough time to go shopping and then...well, back to the studio until evening! Every day is quite hectic, in fact...very hectic!

How would you describe yourself if you had to use three words?

Bella domanda, anche un po’ difficile… mi definisco positiva, abbastanza solare – perché sorrido spesso e poi … sono una testona!

Milan for you is...?

È la mia seconda casa, la prima, è Roma, da dove provengo…ma ormai per me Milano è come una seconda casa a tutti gli effetti.

What are your favourite places in Milan?

I really like Leonardo's Vineyard, Santa Maria delle Grazie and then... I like it all now: the outdoor tables, the restaurants, there's so much life and it's nice to see it like this again, it's really nicer to see it so alive after what we've been through.

For you 'glamour' is...?

Beh, non saprei…non mi definirei una persona molto “glamour”. Per me “glam” è tutto ciò che è lurex, che sberluscica, come dicono a Milano.

How would you describe your style?

I change often... I certainly don't have a 'classic' style.

What would you add to your typical day or routine?

I would love to do some sport, some exercise...but I can't do it, I simply lack the time! That's it, if I had to add something to the day I would add...more hours!

How do you live your hair on a daily basis?

As soon as I wake up I go out without even combing my hair! Luckily I can come here to you, I would say that only here do I really live.

So tell us about a moment you remember with pleasure in the salon....

Really everyone... I come here, I sit, I relax, it's always a pleasure: from the initial massage to the laughter in the salon: I really enjoy the whole atmosphere.

A special day or moment linked to one of your hairstyles?

Quando vengo da voi è sempre un momento piacevole! Ho poco tempo per trattare al meglio i miei capelli a casa, per cui quando vengo qui…è sempre bellissimo [sorride].

Are there any products you use in the salon that you particularly love?

Assolutamente sì, alcuni di Redken, ma quelli Kérastase utilizzati nei trattamenti mi piacciono davvero molto.

How would you describe our salon?

There would be so many adjectives! Definitely lively, bubbly, cheerful, welcoming...

Qual è l’occasione per cui non puoi rinunciare a un appuntamento nel nostro salone?

No need for the occasion! As soon as I can, I'll come to you...

What service would you like in a beauty salon... that has not yet been invented?

The aperitif in the salon! [laughs]

How do you combine family, work and leisure commitments with everyday hair care?

In daily life I just can't....let's say I 'fit in' here and that's it!

What is beauty to you?

Armonia: equilibrio, anche particolari e personali.

What does it mean to you to feel comfortable and to feel your own beauty?

I feel comfortable when I'm let's say 'in shape', also physically and outwardly: a nice crease can make us feel more comfortable.

A moment when you felt you were most beautiful?

Difficult...I don't know.

Which woman do you inspire or admire for her beauty?

Ce ne sono tante: da Madonna a Jennifer Aniston o Jennifer Lopez, hanno una bellezza straordinaria e di grande impatto…ma mi piacciono anche le donne con uno stile più sofisticato, mi piacciono moltissimo: Laura Morante, Cate Blanchett o la Juliette Binoche.

Leaving aside one's own beauty...what do you think a woman today could never manage to give up?

All’ironia e alla leggerezza. Anzi, ironia e leggerezza riescono ad amplificare la bellezza di una donna, soprattutto l’autoironia. E il sorriso: ridere e sorridere…tanto!

For the actress' hairstyle, we were inspired by romantic and sensual styling allo stesso tempo con un perfetto equilibrio di onde e volumi. Mentre per esaltare e sottolineare le linee sinuose del viso e lo sguardo profondo di Flora, abbiamo preferito un make-up con un leggero smokey-eyes effect.

In the search for the best self-image, there are many possibilities and creative combinations, but we must never forget that the personality of each of us is, and remains... unique!

In a world of mingling styles and trends of the moment, which spread like wildfire and influence millions of people, the Hollywood stars are often the centre of attention, ending up as real trend-setters, without forgetting that in recent seasons the real, single, big trend has been the 'non-trend': where everyone has been able to express their own, personal beauty, related to their mood and influence of the moment they are living in.

Today, in fact, we are going to talk about nutrition and draw up together a short (but interesting) list of "super foods" foods that are good allies for the health and beauty of your hair.

The beauty and health of our hair is also determined by the nutrients we take in, and these are necessary for our organism: these include many essential vitamins such as the Vitamins A, C, E, B6 and the Biotin, mineral salts, fatty acids and above all proteins. But in which foods are these substances contained? Here are some simple tips for your hair.

1. The egg: the undisputed king of proteins

Privileged source of fatty acidsof the series omega 3salmon is a food, like all oily fish, that is absolutely essential for our well-being, and that of our hair. In addition to omega 3, salmon contains protein, vitamin D, zinc and some B vitaminsall nutrients useful for the hair.

We like to tell, through a few simple questions and answers, who our customers are, engaging them in a short, informal interview to share their stories, with a focus on how they live their beauty in their intense daily lives (work, family and leisure) their relationship with Milan, what they appreciate about our salon and our work.

Today we present and interview Francesca Chelli.
Francesca, worked for several years in various multinational companies, including Lever e Atkinsons, divisions of Unileverand for Oriflamecompanies in which he held various positions in the marketing, sales and communication areas in Italy and abroad, mainly in London and Brussels.

Back in Italy, she became responsible for the start-up and launch of Nespresso as General Manager, and was in charge of the company's implementation in the territory, and oversaw its growth and management, taking care of the concept and the opening in Milan of the first Nespresso boutique the world.

In 2009, eager to experience business outside of a monolithic structure, she took the step of leaving Nespresso, which had in the meantime become an icon in the Italian coffee market, and entered the arena of business consulting as a freelancer.
Today she deals with repositioning and relaunching luxury brands for companies in various sectors. She periodically speaks as a speaker in Management courses at Luigi Bocconi University, where she graduated.

Although Francesca is a very busy woman, she always finds time for sports, takes great care of her diet, likes to cook for others and follows a healthy lifestyle. She is married, has two daughters, and two dogs, strictly female.

How would you describe yourself if you had to use three words?
Creative, positive, sensitive.
Tell us about yourself, what do you do in life?
I work mainly in communication and today I like to inspire people with my words and style to the point of becoming a communication testimonial myself.
How would you describe your look/style?
I have a very personal style, a mixture of sophistication, glamour and simplicity. I draw from the designers I love and the fashion shows I follow, but then I put my own touch on it.
For her, glamour is...?
Glamour is fun in always finding different and original looks for different occasions.
Milan for you is...?
Milan is my city of the heart, I love it in all seasons, even in scorching heat or fog.
What are your favourite places in Milan?
The Brera area is definitely my favourite and I am lucky enough to live there. But I also really like the area between the Catholic University and Corso Magenta.
What is the moment you remember with pleasure related to one of your hairstyles?
The hairstyle for my 25th wedding anniversary. Simply fantastic!!
What is the occasion for which you cannot miss an appointment in our salon?
Every opportunity is a good one! I have also shared this thought with my friends, who now frequent you. Coming to the COLONNA salon is an experience. You are immediately greeted by a very positive atmosphere by which you are infected. I, for example, let myself go in the capable hands and while they take care of my hair I unplug, relax and recharge! You know how!

Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020

In partnership with Redken, COLONNA Metropolitan Beauty Makers collaborated on the hairstyle of models for the fashion show of designer Dorian Tarantini at the helm of the brand M1992, in the impressive deconsecrated Basilica of Sant'Eufemia in Milan, during the fashion week for menswear which was held from 14 to 17 June.

The hair style of the models was very diversified, ranging from the well-known 60s rockabilly style with a high topknot modelled with gel and then brought upwards creating a wide curl with the fingers and stopped with hairspray, to punk with coloured manes and shaved hair at the sides, while for the models the hairstyles had an androgynous style.
A contrast between past and modern was certainly reflected in the designers' outfits.
